Who we are

The SilkRoad Dancers is founded by a group of Chinese-Folk-Dance enthusiasts in San Diego. Members from this organization come from all walks of life as scientists, physicians, business managers, and entrepreneurs, all sharing a deep appreciation in Chinese folk dances. More importantly, the fabric of this organization lies with the common goal of promoting this art form to the community - usually achieving this by their performances in leading the audience through an unforgettable cultural journey.

Our Artistic Director

Ms. Xingjian Liu has practiced Chinese folk dance for over 30 years. She is well-learned in classical Chinese folk dancer, ethnic dances including Dai, Yangge, Yi and Mandarin etc. as well as other Asian dances such as middle-east, Indian, Korean. She won many awards as a professional dancer in China.

She moved to San Diego in 2003, where she has devoted herself in Chinese folk dance education for children and adults. She has directed and choreographed for numerous shows for the community, ranging from Chinese New Year celebrations, Chinese National Day celebrations, Moon Festivals, Dragon boat festivals, Bay balloon parades to performing for school kids.
